It is on
I am hosting my first ever cookie party tomorrow. It’s a small affair, but I’m hoping it’s a successful one and everyone eats and enjoys some delicious treats.
There is also a contest component. I won the last cookie contest I entered, though the photo the host took of me is so atrocious that I cannot post it here (it was taken the day after my 24th birthday bender and appears I am both sweating alcohol and wearing the previous night’s eye make-up). So there is some pressure to win again.
I made banana walnut cookies from Martha Stewart. They are good, but not phenomenal. I don’t believe they will be the winning cookie, but they are certainly worthy of making again.

As has been stated many times, I am far off my pace for 52 books in 52 weeks. My laziness is one culprit. The other? Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom. I could not hate this book any more if I tried. And yet I can’t stop reading it. The Kindle tells me I’m 77 percent through with it. Fingers crossed I can finally finish it by the end of next week.
